Maybe if tax rates are reduced and not increased people , having more to spend on simple pleasures, will actually find more ways to enjoy life, thereby helping the economy. Maybe the people living in their car will be able to afford rent. (For some this is not an option. Living in their car is rent free and government can clean up their mess.)
