Modernity’s pursuit of Utopia is madness. Nations have an obligation to maintain a standing army. Augustus created ancient Rome’s first standing army where before the Republic relied on propertied classes and having to recruit more men as Rome expanded quickly and without a strong foundation. The irony is that it (modernity) keeps trying to achieve utopianism through coercive means. Those means may not be via brutal physical aggression in Australia, but it certainly is via its equally devastating pursuit of censorship. Without freedom of thought and speech, we have only a totalitarian state. And then the cycle begins again - Anacyclosis.
