Tarries which protect strategic industries or prevent countries with substandard practices (workers sleeping in containers, dangerous working conditions, and dumping of pollution) from undermining Australian businesses, are good. For too long successive Australian governments have sold out Australian interests. A fine example of this is the Australia Post charges which make it cheaper for overseas companies to ship to Australian customers than for Australian companies!
