Try being the first person in your friendship group to say “maybe government shouldn’t run everything.”
These days, being a libertarian is the real counter-culture.
It’s for the young, because they still want to build a future… and for the young-at-heart, who haven’t forgotten that freedom, initiative and responsibility are actually exciting ideas.
Blazing trails used to mean marching in the streets.
Now it might just mean believing people should be free to live their lives without permission from Canberra.

Depending if you're north or south of the metaphorical river, you might find you're saying what everyone else thinking... or force them to think about things critically beyond lefty buzzwords for the first time. (Be prepared for a barrage of invectives, though!)
'The first' implies goodness but should be neutral; like, unique. Maybe it is unique because it is terrible.
